Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Traceless (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Traceless app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Traceless on Apple devices you own or control, in line with these terms and Apple’s standard App Store licence agreement. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as that agreement allows.

Your content

Your photos and videos are yours. Traceless processes them on your device to reveal and remove metadata, and never receives or stores them. You’re responsible for using the app on content you own or have permission to modify, and for keeping your own backups — cleaning a file changes it, and if you choose to replace an original, that change is permanent.

Purchases

Traceless is free to download with an optional in-app purchase, Traceless Pro. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; billing, receipts, and account management are handled by Apple under your App Store terms. Refunds are requested from Apple, not from us. A one-time purchase is yours on any device signed in to the same Apple Account; a monthly option, if chosen, renews through Apple until you cancel it.

No warranty

Traceless is provided “as is”. We work hard to remove the metadata you select, completely and losslessly, and we’re candid on our Support page about the few edge cases (such as how iOS re-stamps a save-time onto cleaned videos). Even so, we can’t guarantee that every possible piece of metadata, in every file format and every third-party app’s private tags, will always be detected or removed. If your safety depends on a photo carrying no trace of you, verify the result before you share it. The app is not a substitute for professional advice in high-risk situations.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including any loss that follows from metadata that was or wasn’t removed, or from an original you chose to overwrite. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we do, we’ll change the effective date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
